G.A.A. PRESIDENT’S AWARD

Congratulations are extended to Tim Healy, Liscarroll, who was the recent recipient of a Gradam an Uachtaráin 2015 at a special banquet in Croke Park recently. The awards, organised by the G.A.A., provide the G.A.A. president with an opportunity to acknowledge outstanding comm g ~itment and service by individuals and clubs across the whole spectrum of G.A.A. activity.

Tim has been one of the great stalwarts of Liscarroll and Cork handball for many years. He has always given the Liscarroll club outstanding service through the years. Tim and his fellow members of Liscarroll handball Club have been to the fore at both county and national level on both the playing and the coaching scene. As secretary of the local handball for many years Tim worked tirelessly organising and refereeing games at all levels. In 1993 he was elected chairman of Cork County Handball Board; he served as Munster Council chairman from 1998 to 2000 and is currently Cork’s delegate to the Munster Council. Tim and his fellow members were instrumental in orga-nising one of the most successful juvenile tournaments held annually in Liscarroll, attracting over 100 entries from all 32 counties as well as overseas entries to Liscarroll every January. Tim is currently a valued leader in coaching man of our young handballers in Liscarroll. Everyone extends congratulations to Tim on this prestigious award, and we wish him and his wife Kathleen continued success and good health.
