GAA charity run raises €16,200 for local charities

Mallow Search and Rescue received a cheque for 5,400 euro.

Mallow GAA activities were on hold during the Covid-19 crisis, but club members showed their community spirit by organising a charity run which raised the amazing sum of €16,200 for three local charities. A 19v19 Charity Run was organised by Keith Moynihan and John McGuinness for the weekend of 23rd and 24th May, and there was a huge response from over 100 club members and supporters who ran a variety of distances during a beautifully sunny weekend and donated to the cause. Last Wednesday, volunteers from Mallow Search and Rescue, St Vincent De Paul and Autism Assistant Dogs gathered outside Mallow GAA Complex where club officers presented each charity with a cheque for €5,400. The recipients thanked and praised Mallow GAA and particularly Keith Moynihan and John McGuinness for their great efforts to support the work of local voluntary organisations. Mala Abu!
