Gaelcholáiste Cill Chúrnáin, the prestigious Irish language summer school, provides a Gaeltacht experience for 5-15 year old students.  Over 130 students were in attendance over the last two weeks.  Students came from local parishes as well as parts of Limerick, Clare, Kildare, Tipperary and two from as far a field as Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
Students enjoyed formal learning in the morning and participated in a range of activities in the afternoon including kayaking, surfing, go-karting, swimming, went to Stonehall Visitor Farm, played mini-golf and baking.
The Gerard McDonnell Perpetual Shield was awarded to Millie Halpin (Kildimo) at the closing ceremony,celebrated by an tAthair Micheál Ó Liostún, in John the Baptist Church Kilcornan by Mrs. Gertie McDonnell, JJ McDonnell and Ms. Tracey Lynch. Patrick O’Donovan TD, Cllr. Emmett O’Brien, local historian Michael Costello who were in attendance spoke and presented sár scoláirí agus árd gradam awards.
