Galbally farm family gets the film premiere treatment

A Galbally farming family that last year started Airbnb at the old homestead later saw Corderry Farm become the setting for a short film. John and Ailish Ivory were more than happy to offer their property as a location for the ‘First Date’ film production when contacted by the Secret Outpost Company.
Looking on to the Galtee Mountains near the Glen of Aherlow, the farm had, in fact, already enjoyed its own little bit of TV exposure when featured on RTE’s Tracks and Trails series back in 2010.

Special guests
Now, ‘First Date’ has enjoyed its premiere at the Belltable Arts Centre in Limerick and the Ivory family were there as special guests.
“It was an exciting weekend for us here at Corderry Farm, the short film “First Date” that was filmed on our farm last September had its premiere at the Belltable Arts Centre, Ailish Ivory told the Vale Star.
“It was a really special experience to be on a guest list and in attendance for the premiere and so lovely to get a special mention from people within that business, saying how stunning the location and farm came across for the film.
This dark comedy received a great reception with plenty of laughs to be heard around the theatre. The film was one of a few, that were produced in the region that were grant aided by the Irish film board to promote the talent and film making outside of Dublin, ”Ailish Ivory added.
