GLAMOUR GIRL NELL CLAIMS 9th ALL IRELAND TITLE

a19

Not only does Nell Fox strut her stuff on the catwalk but she packs a mean punch when she steps in the boxing ring. Nell claimed a record 9th national title for the club as she claimed the U18 81kg belt. Nell overcame Sarah O’Brien from Carrickmacross in the semi final Friday night with a unanimous decision and then met Mikayla Kelly from sacred heart in Saturday’s final Nell took control from the first bell keeping her opponent on the end of a long jab and not allowing her get on the inside where she could land the big hooks over the top, Nell boxed brilliant over the three rounds and claimed another unanimous decision. We will be hoping when the team is selected for the Europeans that Nell will get to represent her Country and no doubt will be in there with a big shout on the medal stage. Claire Kiely was unfortunate to be on the wrong side of a spit decision in the cadet semi final against Elice Elliott from south Meath, it was no doubt from everyone there that Claire had won this fight but again luck just wasn’t on our side, Claire has had her fare share of split decisions go against but she never gives up and no doubt will pick herself up and get that national title she so deserves.
