GLENROE COMMUNITY HALL RE-OPENS

There was a large turn out from the community on last Saturday evening for the blessing by Fr. Tony Kelleher and re-opening of the refurbished Glenroe Community Hall. Major reconstruction work has been carried out on the facility by local contractor Craig McCarthy over the last number of months involving the provision of a new roof and floors, the installation of a kitchen and the carrying out of painting and tiling.

The redevelopment was organised by the local Hall Committee with grant assistance from Ballyhoura Development.

“Tonight is a night of celebration for the parish as we re-open our newly refurbished Hall” declared Hall Committee chairman Michael McSweeney who went on to acknowledge funding received towards the project from the local Community Housing Group, Glenroe School Anniversary Committee, the Drama Group, and the Ladies and G.A.A. clubs.

Mr. McSweeney expressed his gratitude to Eileen O’Keeffe and Ballyhoura Development, his fellow committee members and the Hall Committee secretary Mary Coffey who did trojan work in bringing the project to fruition.
