Grandparents’ Day at Raheenagh N.S.

Catholic Schools Week took place from  Sunday 27th January to Sunday 3rd February.  The theme this year was “Catholic Schools in the Community of Faith; Sharing the Good News.”  This is based on the Year of Faith that began in October 2012 and on the National Directory for Catechesis called Share the Good News.

The objective of Catholic Schools Week is to celebrate the contribution of Catholic schools to society and to our faith.  Raheenagh National School celebrated Catholic Schools Week by inviting Grandparents in for a day of celebration on February 1st St. Brigid’s Day.  Grandparents were given a tour of the classes, took photos with their grandchildren and enjoyed some refreshments.  The children were delighted with the huge turnout.  It gave a chance to grandparents to share their memories of time in school in the past.
