HAIRY MADNESS RAISES OVER €12,000 FOR CAUSES

Malone’s Hairy Madness fundraiser had its cheque presentation in Malone’s Bar Glenroe on Saturday 9th February.
The 2018 fundraiser raised €12,070 to be shared between Milford Care Centre and Denny and Kathryn McDonnell.
For the month of November participants grew beards and this year there were two shave off nights as there were 18 taking part. The first shave off night was on 1st December in McDermotts Bar Ballylanders, and the second night was in Malone’s Bar Glenroe on 8th December. Raffles and auctions also took place on the nights.
The organisers would like to thank the participants – Patsy McDonnell, Pajo McCarthy, Pádraig Moloney, Pa Sheehy, Steve Farrell, Joey Daly, Matthew Walsh, Tom Burke, Tom Sheehan, Tony Collins, Shane Houlihan, Ger Howard, Martin Hartnett, Thomas O’Connell, Connie McSweeney, Eamonn Sheehy, Dave Walsh and Mick Dennehy.
Thanks to all who sponsored the lads, to all who sponsored raffle prizes and items for the auction, and provided refreshments and helped out on the nights.
The organisers would also like to acknowledge Laz from Kusadasi Turkish Barbers, Mitchelstown, Debbie Sheehy, Maria Houlihan and Catriona Riordan who gave up their time to do the shaving. McDermott’s Bar, Ballylanders for hosting a shave night and to Mary Malone, Dave and Alice of Malone’s Bar Glenroe.
Malone’s Hairy Madness started in 2015 and to date has raised €29,443 for wonderful causes, includ-ing Movember, Milford Care Centre, Carebright, Limerick Suicide Watch and Denny and Kathryn McDonnell. Well done to all.
