20 teams and 80 students competed for honours in the eagerly awaited Kilmallock Credit Union Primary Schools Quiz and the standard was exceptionally high with a close battle in both competitions. The noise level rose by several decibels as the top three in each competition were announced, reaching a crescendo with accom-panying drum roll and loud cheer when the winners were announced.
The results were as follows:
Competition A U11
1st: Scoil Mocheallóg, Kilmallock National School – 40 points
2nd: Ardpatrick National School – 38 points
3rd: Athlacca National School – 37 points
Competition B 11-13
1st: Scoil Fhionáin, Kilfinane National School – 60 points
2nd: Athlacca National School – 57 points
3rd: Scoil Mocheallóg, Kilmallock National School – 56 points
Kilmallock Credit Union presented prizes to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams in both competitions and also to the principals of the winning schools.
The Credit Union would like to thank all the students, parents, teachers and principals for their enthusiastic participation.
There was also a special commendation for all the volunteers who helped with the organisation of the successful quiz.
