The development of a new school library at Scoil Mocheallóg in Kilmallock got a welcome shot in the arm when the local Credit Union recently presented a sponsorship cheque for €3,000 towards the project, writes John Barrett. It is expected that the new library will be up and running later this year, and school principal Michael O’Connor this week warmly welcomed the sponsorship; “We are so grateful to Kilmallock Credit Union for their fantastic gesture which will help to fulfil the literary needs of our pupils, “he told the Vale Star.
Minister for State Patrick O’Donovan last September officially opened the new €9m building at Scoil Mocheallóg, which boasts 320 pupils in attendance.
