KILMALLOCK WALLED TOWN DAY ON SATURDAY

Celebrate Kilmallock’s medieval heritage with a day of family fun this Saturday, 7th June.  King’s Castle and Blossom Castle will be open for guided tours every half hour from 2pm -5pm. This is a unique opportunity to climb these beautiful buildings which are very rarely open to the public. Access is limited to 15 at a time. Events will take place from 2 – 5pm in the car park behind King’s Castle.  There will be a diverse and colourful market element to the afternoon. The organisers are delighted to announce that Diana Dodog, the recent winner of Master-Chef will be attending the market. Other highlights include Pride of Ireland Awards Grand Champions Bee Sensations, Bean and Gone and the award winning Ballyhoura Apple Farm as well as Prague Pastries.

The Limerick Craft Collective, including Clare Jordan ceramics and silversmith Fergus Grant, will also be in Kilmallock on Saturday. The group was formed in 2013 by a group of local craft wor-kers to raise awareness, understanding and apprec-iation of Limerick craft and design.

Kilmallock Historical Society will open the local Museum. There will be a town walk at 3pm as well as kiddies’ painting workshops. The ever popular treasure hunt will be run at 4.30pm.  Join in the celebration of Kilmallock’s Heritage: its history, its buildings, its defences, its food and its crafts. Admission free.
