Launch of Knocklong Festival

Recent investigations into the condition of the Knocklong Community Centre revealed that approximately One hundred and fifty thousand euro need spending on it to modernise it, refurbish it and remove the ceilings which are built with asbestos. Some of this money will come from grants but local funding will be needed to obtain the balance. Taking a leaf out of the book of the original committee, there is a proposal that members of the public would make an interest free loan to the building project in the sum of Two hundred euro each and these would be repaid on a monthly basis no later than September 2013. There are many other proposals to raise funds including a Harvest Fair Day on October 2nd which will include fun for all ages and the opportunity to try the life changing experience of a Bungee Jump – sponsorship of One hundred and fifty euro will be needed per jump. There will be a fancy dress dance in Bulgaden Castle on October 29th, judged by the Limerick entrants in Come Dine With Me and of course, huge prizes for the winners.
