I am Liam Beville from Gardenfield, Monagea, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.
I have recently been awarded a Guinness World Record for “Heaviest Dead lift” in a disability category (MP4). MP4 is a disability category that an athlete that cannot submit full force through their legs fall under.
While I have never competed in a disability competition, preferring to compete against able-bodied athletes, Guinness World Records have recognised that I have a disability and now hold the Heaviest Deadlift in the world for this MP4 category.
In turn I wish to recognise the staff and excellent facilities of West Limerick Sports Complex (WLSC) and the valuable work they do for the West Limerick area. In turn for me presenting my official Guinness World Record Certificate then I have been honoured as Brand Ambassador for WLSC.
My mission, with the help of WLSC is to promote health and fitness for the older people of West Limerick. Being 60 years of age myself then I wish to motivate people of all ages to take up the gym and its facilities. Age should never be a restriction and my Guinness World Record certificate should be a testament to this as Guinness do not recognise age or bodyweight but do recognise disability.
I also wish to inspire anyone with a disability to never give up and to never give in as while I have a disability I compete in abled bodied competition and I rank number 1 in the world for Deadlift in Abled Bodied Deadlift.
I hold 4 world records in 4 weight divisions in Able Body Deadlift competitions and I am Ireland’s Best Deadlifter for the past 33 years, both of which are also records in itself.
I hope to encourage and inspire people of all ages and ability to take up sport and the gym.
