Tournafulla clubman Liam Lenihan’s many years of service to the Gaelic Athletic Association received due reward when he was elected unopposed as vice-chairman of Munster G.A.A. at the annual convention in the Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork, last Friday evening. The popular Gael has given long and distin-guished service to the G.A.A. in Limerick at West Board level, and for five years as chairman of Limerick County Board, from 2008-12. He has also been involved in the management of a number of Limerick county teams.

Liam Lenihan was first elected to the Munster Council at the Convention in Ballylanders in December 2014 as one of Limerick’s two Munster Council delegates, along with Frank Reidy of Feohanagh-Castlemahon. His elevation to Council officership means there is now a vacancy for a Limerick delegate, and Limerick County Board is expected to shortly put in place arrangements for the filling of that vacancy.
