Locals to star for Cork minors in Sunday’s All-Ireland

Cork senior hurlers may have suffered a disappointing end to their All Ireland aspirations in recent weeks, but there is still a lot for Rebel fans to cheer about, as the county minors will proudly wear the ‘blood and bandage’ this Sunday at Croke Park, where they will face Galway in the All Ireland Final, with a throw-in time of 1.15pm. There are several local players gracing the 2017 panel, including Ronan Sheehan from Mallow, Jack Twomey, Kilshannig, vice-captain James Keating and Ian Butler, Kildorrery, Jack O’Callaghan, Charleville, John Geary, Newtownshandrum, Brian Buckley and David Jones, Dromina, Colin O’Brien, Churchtown-Liscarroll Gaels, Conor O’Callaghan, Dromtarriffe, and Diarmuid Lenihan, Ballyhooly, and we wish them and all associated with this fine team every success, including selectors Fergus Ryan from Mallow and John Mortell, Ballyhea.
