There will be keen local interest in the Rose of Tralee this year after Mairéad Brennan, formerly of Knock-namona, Lombards-town, was crowned Syd-ney Rose at the Australian city’s selection night last weekend. Mairéad will travel back to Ireland for the big event which will be held in the festival dome in Tralee next August, and there will be a huge cheer when she takes the stage to be interviewed by Daithí Ó Sé at the televised extravaganza.
Mairéad is daughter of Juliette and the late Anthony, and sister of Anna Marie, Julie and Tony, and her many local fans will be hoping that she can win the title of Rose of Tralee 2022.
