Mallow business makes hay at Ploughing 2023

Cork County Council’s Local Enterprise Office Cork North and West was delighted to select Mallow business, Health and Safety Publications Ltd to exhibit at the National Ploughing Championships as part of the Local Enterprise Village.
The initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) saw over 30 small businesses from across the country take a stand in the heart of the Ploughing Championships, opening their businesses up to over 200,000 prospective customers across the three days of the event. The Local Enterprise Village welcomed well-known faces from Neven Maguire and Minister Simon Coveney to President Michael D. Higgins and An Tanaiste Micheál Martin.
Health and Safety Publications Ltd. is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Marek and Rose Szepietowski with the aim of becoming the ‘go to’ company for health and safety training and awareness. The company has been in business for the last 17 years supplying training literature to the health and safety training industry.
Their new initiative, ‘The Children’s Safety Series’ of books has been in development over the last two years and came about when Marek wanted to purchase books for his three little girls on safety awareness but couldn’t find anything in the marketplace. They engaged the services of Child Psychologist Ann Linehan to ensure that the books are suitable for 3 to 9-year-old children.  The series currently consists of 6 books all with the aim of instilling a sense of safety awareness on various topics from a young age. The range of books is available from www.samandsue.com.
Mayor of the County of Cork Cllr. Frank O’Flynn congratulated Health and Safety Publications on their opportunity, saying, “It gives me great pride to see business supported by our Local Enterprise Offices continue to thrive and create new initiatives. The opportunity for Health and Safety Publications to display their fantastic range of child friendly safety books to such a wide audience will mutually benefit the business and the youth of Ireland, who can learn valuable lessons from this excellent initiative.”
Kevin Curran, Head of Enterprise Cork North and West, said, “The primary objective of the Local Enterprise Village is to showcase the quality of the type of companies which the LEOs support, and each Local Enterprise Office was allocated one stand for their chosen client. Health and Safety Publications Ltd, Mallow, received excellent feedback over the three days.”
