Mallow Chamber welcomes Joyce A. Good Hammond as new President

Mallow Chamber is pleased to announce the appointment of Joyce A. Good Hammond as its new President. Ms. Good Hammond succeeds Estelle Varney, who recently completed her two-year term as President. Mallow Chamber extends its sincere thanks to Ms. Varney for her dedication and leadership, and for the significant time and resources she committed to representing the Mallow business community during her tenure, often going above and beyond.
Before handing over the Chain of Office, Ms Varney said: “It has been a privilege to serve the Mallow business community, and I am grateful for the invaluable support of the directors, local businesses, community groups and organisations. I wish Joyce A. Good Hammond, every success in her future role as President.”
On accepting her new role, Joyce A. Good Hammond said: “I was delighted to have been appointed recently as President of Mallow Chamber of Commerce, taking on the role from former President Estelle Varney, who represented the Mallow area so well. We are extremely thankful to her for the extensive time and resources she expended in her position.
“I am a solicitor of 20 years’ standing and a Partner in Hammond Good LLP, Solicitors and Notaries Public, Mallow, where I practise alongside my spouse, Richard Hammond S.C.
“I come from a retail background, with my father having founded G. T. Electric in Cavan town over 50 years ago. The business continues to thrive under the stewardship of my brother, Alvan Good. I understand the challenges faced by both retail and commercial industries, and I am committed to supporting and advocating for the Mallow area’s business community to the best of my ability.
“As a Chamber team, we look forward to working with local businesses and continuing to encourage keeping business in Mallow and keeping Mallow in business,” she said.
As President, Joyce A. Good Hammond will lead the Chamber in its ongoing work to support, promote, and advocate for businesses across Mallow and the wider region.
