Mallow GAA Cycle Group Raise over €10,000 for local charities.

Following on from the local elections the count is in for the fantastic cycle that was undertaken by the members and friends of Mallow GAA on the 26th April 2014.

On the day there were 38 cyclists that headed out the road for Kerry!

All made it in one piece, no punctures, one fall and a new route to Dingle that was taken by a few!!!!!

It is not easy raising money and great credit is due to all those who took part, as not only was it about getting to Dingle, but we also were raising money for local charities in Mallow Town.

We would like to thank the people of Mallow and surrounding areas for their great support and it goes to show that there is great pride in supporting local charities.

When we set out on this cycle again this year we set ourselves a very ambitious target of €10,000 to be collected for these worthy causes.

We are delighted to say that we have exceeded this figure and the final tally will be in before the weekend!

To close down this great event for 2014 we are having a presentation of the monies to the 3 charities in Mallow GAA Sports Complex next Thursday night 19th June at 8pm.

We would like to invite all of the cyclists to come and share in this great achievement and also any other members that would like to put their names down for next year.

This has once again been a fantastic success and all at Mallow GAA are proud of the effort of its members and supporters who committed to this fundraiser.

We look forward to next year, with a new route, more cyclists, more vans, sandwiches, Jaffa cakes, fig rolls, lucozade sport and most importantly a great night at the end of a long day!

The three charities are:
