A Women’s Christmas Night to remember was celebrated at Mallow Golf Club last Friday night when over 80 members came together to mark Aisling O’Connor’s year as Lady captain. Proceedings began at 7.30pm when Aisling welcomed her family, friends, Lady President Marguerite Owens, to the beautifully decorated hall – everyone commented favourably on Mary O’Connor’s impressive flower arrangement – and once seated they enjoyed a delicious meal to grace the occasion. After the meal, Mallow’s newest boy band – Pat Doolan, Gerry O’Callaghan, Denny O’Sullivan, and band leader Benjie ‘The Dragon’ Hallihan – gave a showstopping performance, enhanced by many contributions from members who proved equally as good at singing as they are on the golf course. It was a wonderful night, and a great start for the club’s new Lady Captain, who thanked everyone who attended and helped to make it a night to remember.
