Mallow schools were well represented at this year’s BT Young Scientists Exhibition in the RDS, Dublin, and Minister of State Seán Sherlock visited each stand and praised the work of Mallow schools which have such a proud record at the com-petition. “You cannot be but impressed, proud and extremely hopeful for the future when you meet these students from Mallow at the RDS,” said the minister, adding that, “The dedication from the students, the teachers, the parents and the faith put in the project by the school community is testament to the work that was put in to showcase solutions and innovations from Mallow students.

“This competition is not about the marquee winners, it is about the vision and energy that the students have for science. I saw from Mallow the future scientists, future engineers and the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. The challenge now is to ensure these students – both male and female – stay with STEM subjects into the final years of their studies,” he said.
