Mansion House reception for Special Olympics World Games participants

Four Mallow Utd Special Olympics floorball players travelled to the Mansion House in Dublin last Monday for a special reception to honour the Team Ireland athletes who did so well at the recent World Winter Games in Italy. Among the athletes being honoured by Lord Mayor Emma Blain were Mallow and North Cork’s James Hunter, Jack Buckley, Gavin Bourke and Joe Joe Sheehan, who were members of the Ireland floorball team which won bronze medals at the World Games.
Team Ireland had great success at the World Games, winning a total of 11 medals, 5 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze.
