MINISTER REILLY TO VISIT MALLOW GENERAL HOSPITAL

Minister for Health, Dr. James Reilly, is to visit Mallow General Hospital on February 1st as part of a wider visit to Cork hospitals. Minister of State, Seán Sherlock, welcomed news of the minister’s visit, saying it would give an opportunity to impress on him the importance of Mallow as a general hospital for the Cork region.

“Minister Brendan Howlin agreed a capital programme with Minister Reilly to build a Medical Assessment Unit in the hospital and this is an opportunity for him to see the work at first hand,” he said. “This work [the construction of the Medical Assessment Unit] will ensure that there is a very strong place for Mallow General Hospital within the hospital’s structure as a centre of excellence for short-stay elective surgery.”
