Munster Maths and Science Family Fair this Sunday

People of all ages will flock to Mallow GAA Complex this Sunday for the 9th annual Munster Maths and Science Family Fair, starting at 11.30am and running until 4.30pm. One of the largest S.T.E.M. fairs in the country, the aim of the Maths and Science Fair is to show the ‘fun side’ of maths and science, and Mallow Development Partnership has announced that a record 60 exhibitors will participate, including representatives of industry, research, third-level institutes and North Cork schools. There will be a wide array of interactive experiments, demonstrations and displays for all ages to enjoy, with robotics, 3D visuals and simulations, microscopic exploration, gaming platforms, communications technology and research explorations, fun science experiments, interesting physics activities, and more. There will also be outdoor drone-flying displays and bottle rocket demonstrations, as well as emergency service vehicles to view. Exciting new additions this year include the Nutty Scientists, Confirm – Smart Manufacturing, Lismore Science Centre, Maritime College of Ireland, Trackman Golf Analysis, Abbott Ireland, Ashgrove Renewables, Junior Achievement Ireland and Next Gen Power. The Blackrock Castle Observatory portable planetarium will prove very popular, as will the Irish Defence Forces stand which will feature bomb disposal equipment and much more.
