Davis College scored a national success at the All Ireland Schools Track and Field Championships in Tullamore last Saturday. Brandon Arrey won the intermediate boys’ 400 metres and the 400 metres hurdles, while Ray Walsh was runner-up in the intermediate 100 metre and 200 metres. The school also won the Intermediate Perpetual Shield for Schools with team members Glen Kennefick, Saran Mangalashthira, Ray Walsh, Brandon Arrey, Darragh Kennefick, Anthony Bowles and Ronan O’Sullivan. They beat Belvedere College 38 points to 37, a remarkable achievement as Belvedere have won the shield ten times since 1997.
