National Award For Newcastle West Volunteer

Jerry O’Donovan, a Newcastle West man, is one of two volunteers with Limerick Youth Service who were honoured for their commitment to the lives of Limerick’s young people at Youth Work Ireland’s Volunteer Achievement Awards recently.

Jerry has been a volunteer with Newcastle West Youth Club for a decade and has been a driving force behind the growing popularity of the club.

From organising Friday night activities to painting and maintenance duties, Jerry has certainly gone that extra mile in making Newcastle West Youth Club such a success.

Jerry was presented with his award by Senator Aideen Hayden, Labour Party spokesperson on Children and Youth Affairs.

Established by Youth Work Ireland in 1999, the Volunteer Achievement Awards recognise the contribution that volunteers have and continue to give to youth organisations around the country.
