Congratulations to Neil Curtis, a Transition Year student at Davis College, who successfully competed in the National Olympiad in Dublin City University recently and will travel to Daegu, South Korea, on 1st December, one of six Irish representatives to travel and represent Ireland in the International Junior Science Olympiad. Neil was selected to compete in  the National Olympiad as a result of his excellent Junior Certificate results in maths and science, in which the State Examina-tions Commission identified him, along with Michael McMahon, to participate in this pres-tigious competition.
The Irish Junior Science Olympiad (IrJSO) is a competition which is held in Dublin City University (DCU) in October. All participants receive a certificate. The top three students are awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in their categories. Gold and silver medal winners represent Ireland at the annual IrJSO in December. Davis College is very proud of Neil’s achieve-ment and wishes him every success in Korea.
