New Boots store creates 10 jobs!

Mayor Noel O’Connor and model Kellie Forde cut the ribbon to officially open the new Boots store on Main Street in Mallow, creating 10 full time and part time jobs and further delivering on its ambition to be Ireland’s leading pharmacy-led health and beauty retailer. Located on Davis Street, the store is managed by Hazel Lindsay. Boots Ireland will be providing Mallow and surrounding communities with an unrivalled choice of services and products. The expertise and services delivered by its team of pharmacists is comple-mented by Boots’ innovative range of prod-ucts including vita-mins, cosmetics, toiletries and fragrances for men and women, together with photo products, electrical beauty and baby products.

Commenting on the lau-nch, Debbie Smith, Man-aging Director, Boots Ireland, said: “We are very pleased to be creating employment in Mallow and strengthening the network of Boots stores in Cork and right across the country. We are looking forward to catering for people’s pharmacy and beauty product needs in an accessible, friendly environment that delivers excellence in customer care.”

Also participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the launch of the new store was Mary Kelly, President of Mallow Chamber. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mayor O’Connor, said, “I am delighted to welcome Boots to Mallow. It is a sign of confidence in the town that an international brand has invested and created jobs in the town and we look forward to working with and shopping in Boots over the years to come.”

Also speaking at the launch was Mary Rose Burke, Director of Pharmacy, Boots Ireland, who said, “Having been a resident of Mallow for the past 20 years, I am especially happy to be here today at the opening of our newest Boots pharmacy store.  It is great to be part of job creation at local level. Boots Ireland knows that this town has a bright future and we want to be a part of it.”

The services and products on offer at the new store will give people greater choice, accommodating their needs and daily schedules in a flexible way and ultimately helping to ensure better patient outcomes. Some of the pharmacy services include:

prescription medicine services, management of repeat prescriptions, healthy heart and blood pressure checks, Boots Winter Flu Vaccination Service, Weight Loss Programme, Boots Stop for Good smoking cess-ation programme, Boots Maternity Tens rental, and emergency contraception.
