NEW COMPANY HQ TO CREATE 15-20 JOBS

Last Friday in Mallow, Minister at the Dept. of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Seán Sherlock TD official opened the Irish office of Global company DQS which is a leading management systems certification body with offices in over 80 countries worldwide. Speaking at the opening, the Minister stated, “Job creation and expansion of global companies into Ireland reflect the forward momentum of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs. Companies like DQS who are trying to create a bigger market for Ireland rather than taking a share of the market, boost industry here at home.”

DQS will create 15-20 jobs, 5 of which will be full time positions; DQS Ireland will provide globally recognised certifi-cation of management systems to professional companies, in all industries throughout Ireland. DQS Ireland will also provide audits and assessments for companies on their man-agement systems world-wide as well as internat-ional audits when required on any international suppliers. “It is reassuring to see that global com-panies view Mallow as a productive location from which to base their Irish operations, and having met with management I have assured them of my support and that of my department,” Minister Sherlock said.

Mayor of Mallow Cllr. Noel O’Connor said: “this is a great day, I was delighted to welcome this company on behalf of the people of Mallow. This company will initially create six new jobs but will eventually have up to fifteen employees. The significance for Mallow of a new national company setting up its headquarters in Mallow must not be lost. Mallow is a hub town under the National Spatial Strategy and it’s up to me and my fellow councillors to make this designation work in a positive way for our town. As Mayor I do believe that there are many more companies, like DQS, presently considering where they should set up their headquarters. All I can say is that Mallow welcomes any such com-panies and I will go out of my way as mayor to encourage any such com-panies to consider Mallow as a base from which to do business nationally.”
