Last Thursday was a special day for management and staff at Mallow General Hospital as it opened the first new beds in its newly-constructed extension. Mallow man Frank Morrissey had the honour of being the first patient to move into the new extension, and he was soon followed by other patients, all of whom marvelled at the beautiful new facility. Last week’s opening was just phase one of a staged opening, which by next year should see many more patients being accommodated in the state-of-the-art extension, details of which will be announced at a later date.
