Motorists travelling on the N20 Limerick-Cork road are advised that the New Twopothouse to Lisballyhea road – including the Ballybeg bends – will be closed to daytime traffic until Friday fortnight, 16th October, to facilitate essential road improve-ment works. The work started on Tuesday of this week, and traffic will be diverted via Doneraile from 8am to 8pm on weekdays.
The closure is required to facilitate road strength-ening and resurfacing works at the Ballybeg bends, and to ensure the safety of both road workers and the travelling public during construction activities. A signed diversion route is in place via Doneraile, with all diversion routes clearly signposted. Emergency services, bus services and local traffic will be accommodated through the roadworks site at all times.
Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time and to follow all temporary traffic management measures and diversion signage in the interests of safety. Cork County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks road users for their patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
