NEWCASTLE WEST ROVERS tree planting ceremony

The club was delighted to welcome FAI Chief Executive John Delaney and Minister for Sports and Tourism Michael Ring, as well as other dignitaries and guests, to a tree planting ceremony at our new grounds at Woodfield, Killeline yesterday. A great crowd turned out and we were blessed with fine weather for the ceremony. We would also like to thank Patrick O’Donovan TD, Dan Neville TD, Councillor John Sheahan, Cathaoirleach, Limerick County Council, Councillor Jerome Scanlan, John Fennessy, Chairman of the Desmond Schoolboy League, Colm Dalton, representing Referees’ Association and Michael Finucane. We would like to extend our gratitude to Declan Benson of Desmond Credit Union and Canon Frank Duhig for blessing the grounds. We were also well represented by club members, past and present, on what was a great occasion for everyone involved in the club over the past 27 years.
