Nicola makes history!

Nicola Dore from Kilcornan made history last Saturday by becoming Ireland’s first athlete to win a senior medal in a major world para powerlifting competition. 29 year old Nicola Dore smashed her old personal best three times to win bronze at the European Championships in France! This is a huge achievement and all her family and friends gathered at Dore Concepts Healthy Lifestyle Training Centre in Kilcornan to welcome her home on Monday evening. To add to the special occasion, Nicola was also named one of Limerick’s top forty under 40s on the evening before the competition, but unfortunately could not attend the event which took place in the Strand Hotel in Limerick city. Her proud cousin Declan Dore accepted the award on her behalf, but on Monday evening she was given another surprise when one of the main sponsors of the event, Colm O’Brien, personally presented the award to her on her homecoming celebration. This lady is so inspiring and we would encourage you to follow her on her journey. You can check out her website www.NicolaDore.com where you can join her on any of her social media platforms!
