Orla O’Connell, repres-enting Dick’s SuperValu was crowned the 2012 Charleville Festival Queen last Sunday at a gala evening in the Charleville Park Hotel. Orla, from Pike Farm, who wore a stunning pink dress, entertained both judges and audience with her charm and wit. Her monologue about a psychotic girlfriend had everyone in peals of laughter.
Twenty one year old Orla, who is currently studying theatre in Cork, works part-time in Dick’s SuperValu. She was a very popular winner and was presented with a beautiful tiara and crystal vase sponsored by Bridget’s Gift Store. She also won €500 and goes on to represent Charleville Cheese Festival in the 2013 Cork heats of the Rose of Tralee. Orla’s proud parents and grand-parents were there on Sunday night to witness her victory and they could not contain their delight when her name was announced as the 2012 Charleville Festival Queen.
