O’Sullivan Family Honours Late Jockey Michael O’Sullivan with Incredible Support for Brú Columbanus at Cork City Marathon

Brú Columbanus extends heartfelt thanks to the O’Sullivan family for their remarkable support in memory of their beloved son and brother, Michael O’Sullivan, at this year’s Cork City Marathon.
Running in Michael’s memory, the O’Sullivan family inspired an outpouring of support from friends, neighbours, and the wider racing and sporting community. Their efforts were in aid of Brú Columbanus, a charity close to their hearts, which provides accommodation to families of patients in Cork hospitals.
The family’s iDonate page — www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/MichaelOSullivanFamily — continues to receive generous contributions, and stands as a powerful tribute to Michael’s enduring legacy of kindness, strength, and community spirit.
Speaking after the marathon, Alan O’Sullivan (Michael’s brother) said, “We’ll always carry the sadness of losing Michael, but we’re grateful we were able to be near him. Brú Columbanus gave us comfort and space to be a family when we needed it most, this is our way of giving back.”
The funds raised will directly support families who need a place to stay while their loved ones receive treatment in Cork, families just like the O’Sullivans, who know first hand how much of a difference Brú Columbanus can make during the most difficult of times.
Speaking on behalf of Brú Columbanus, CEO Anne Maria O’Connor said, “The courage and generosity shown by the O’Sullivan family is nothing short of extraordinary. Their support not only honours Michael’s memory but will also bring hope and comfort to so many others. We are deeply grateful.”
Brú Columbanus encourages the public to continue supporting the O’Sullivan family’s fundraiser and to share the page with anyone who might be moved by Michael’s story and the family’s powerful tribute.
