Pat O’Sullivan from Mallow will join the Ireland team this Saturday as they fly out to Sardinia to take part in the 10th European Transplant and Dialysis Sports Cham-pionships, which begin on Sunday. Pat, who received a kidney transplant three years ago, is part of a 24-member team and will compete in tennis (mixed doubles), 100 metre sprint, 200 metres, long jump and 4×100 metres.
“I’m looking forward to creating awareness here in my local town on organ donation and the benefits that transplantation brings,” said Pat. “I’m really looking forward to being in a team environ-ment and representing my country at the same time.”
