Pedal to the Peak

A group of seven parents and one teacher from Herberstown NS are hoping to travel from the lowest point in Ireland to the highest next weekend, (June 23rd) raising funds for Herbertstown NS, Clíona’s Foundation and Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
The group has been preparing since January for the challenge and collectively has somewhere in the region of 20,000 training kilometres completed. All these hours on the bike will be needed if the 7 parents and 1 teacher are to complete the massive 270KM cycle from Ireland’s lowest point, the North Slob in County Wexford to Carrauntoohil in County Kerry. The group hopes then to complete the challenge by hiking to the roof of Ireland. No one has ever attempted this challenge before. On the same day, a group of over 40+ parents, teachers and friends of the school will also climb Carrauntoohil.
