The Hunt family in Newcastle West is steeped in pipe band history, and three generations of the family have been heavily involved in the Newcastle West and District Pipe Band. The youngest member of the Hunt dynasty, John junior, has been named as a piper on the Celtic Woman Tour of the United States, and will set off in February for a three-month tour, playing about 60 shows across the country. John is a talented piper, and the credit for this comes from his hard work, along with the training and encouragement he received from an early age from his father John and grandfather Seamus. While on tour, John will wear his Newcastle West uniform with pride, and everyone in the local band is wishing him every success.
