Play in Pink raises €4,380 for Breast Cancer Research

The recent Play in Pink event which was held in Mallow Golf Club in aid of Breast Cancer Research, has raised the magnificent sum of €4,380, and the organisers would like to express thanks to all who supported the fundraiser in any way.
The morning started off a little misty, but as the day progressed the sunshine came through. 190 golfers competed on the day, with the assistance of parking attendants and course rangers. Thanks to the efforts of James Cotter, Peter McKenna, Alan Wilson and Jerry McCarthy, the day went off without a hitch.
The Play in Pink committee was outstanding on the day, guided by Lady Captain Carmel Conroy and Lady President Susan Curtin, organising a wonderful display of beautiful hamper prizes for the raffle, all donated and sponsored by the Pink committee and members. A lovely Prosecco and strawberry reception on arrival was sponsored by club member Nicolette O’Mahoney of Unique Beauty, and long-time member Lily Walsh had a beautiful display of handcrafted goods for sale and she donated all proceeds to the fundraiser, Marie Mulcahy and Lily arranged the most wonderful display of fresh flowers around the clubhouse, and Laura Curtin created an amazing balloon arch on the staircase, in every shade of pink. Ann O’Keeffe continued her year-on-year sponsorship, with beautiful festive decorations inside and outside the clubhouse.
Thank you to all members and staff who helped in any way to run this event, and who made it the success it was. Finally, thank you to main sponsors Marian Keary of Kearys Hyundai, which has been a great supporter of this cause
It was a fantastic, fun-filled day, thanks to the people who came from clubs near and far to support this event and catch up with old friends.
