Please help to bring Carol home

Carol Callaghan.

As a nation, Irish people are widely known for their generosity in both charitable donations and volunteering. We have a strong tradition of helping those in our own localities and beyond. This came to prominence recently when Charleville lady, Carol Callaghan, fell ill and suffered a medical emergency while on holiday in Spain. Her son, Jack, and daughter, Tara, and family have set up a GoFundMe page, managed by Lauren Bowles, in order to cover the enormous costs of the air ambulance trip which Carol needs to bring her home.
Carol’s family are travelling over and back to Spain to be with her and support her while her medical treatment continues. Carol is known in Charleville for her friendliness and warmth, her name bringing a smile to those who speak of her. Many would know her late parents, Jackie and Joanie Butler, and her brothers Ray, and Robbie, a respected and loved local family.
The town of Charleville and beyond showed what community spirit means, as funds to help bring Carol home skyrocketed within hours of the GoFundMe page being set up. If you want to help Carol, you can follow the link to the fundraiser site and donate at www.gofundme.com/f/help-bring-carol-home-after-a-devastating-accident
We are all united in wishing Carol a speedy recovery and a safe trip home.
