Pyramid gymnasts travelled to Fermanagh recently for the first inter-club competition of the year between clubs north and south. The Lakeland Forum was an ideal venue for such a great competition. Gymnasts from different parts of the country travelled to the Lakeland Forum for a great weekend of acrobatics. This was the first competition of its kind to be held by Northern Ireland Gymnastics and what a success it was for Pyramid Gymnastics club in Mallow.
Pyramid Gymnastics Club were well represented with gymnasts from their Intermediate and Senior classes. Levels ranged from Grade 2 all the way to Youth in acrobatics, with some of the most spectacular routines being performed and appreciated by the audience and other gymnasts alike.
The general standard was high with everyone competing a combined routine showing elegance, artistry and pure gymnastics, balances showing control and strength, with flexibilities in abundance throughout.
General performances from all our gymnasts were outstanding with choreography to match lively and energetic routines. A huge array of medals travelled home with all our gymnasts, making all the coaches very proud to be part of their team.
Our grade 4 pair of Chloe Savage and Ella Mc Cormick received the highest score from the morning competition from the club to secure the sought-after trophies. The girls performed an energic and dynamic routine to un, dos, tres performing flips, walkovers, and round-offs, to name a few.
Our new pair of Aoidin O’Sullivan and Ava Sheehan got the highest execution score of the day, scoring a massive 8.6 out of a possible 10. The competition was just short of 100 routines, so to achieve this result is a massive achievement for such a young pair. They also received a trophy for their outstanding routine.
