Thirty three members of Pyramid Gymnastics Club in Mallow returned home laden with a superb haul of honours after a fantastic weekend of gymnastics in Swansea, over the Easter weekend. Head coaches Jackie O’Herlihy and Laura Jones were delighted with their success at the competition, taking a total of 6 gold, 13 silver, and 17 bronze. Our trio of Alli Fitzpatrick, Elaine Daly and Ava Hanrahan won the gold in the Grade 4 section scoring the highest score in that category. Pyramid’s gymnasts aged from eight to nineteen years competed across categories from National Level 1 through to National Level 4.
“The standard at this year’s competition was so high that we had to pull out all the stops just to be competitive. Our achievements are a fair reward for the commitment and hard work of the gymnasts and our dedicated coaches who have worked towards this competition since last September” said Jackie.
The competition was held over two days in front of a large and vocal support of parents, family and friends who encouraged every competitor and created a fantastic atmosphere for all the competitors. The competition itself was a tremendous success with over 250 gymnasts from Ireland, England and Wales taking part in what has become a flagship event for Pyramid Gymnastics.
