There’s been a ‘paws-itively’ huge response to the Night at the Dogs fundraising evening in aid of the Nazareth House Building Fund. With just a few days to go before the major benefit night, this Saturday, May 20th, the last remaining tickets are on sale from Nazareth House. Curraheen Park Greyhound Stadium is hosting the evening, with proceeds going towards the €18.5 million redevelop-ment of one of Mallow’s most beloved nursing homes, Nazareth House in Dromahane. The new development is already well under way and will consist of a new two-storey extension with 120 brand new single en-suite bedrooms and ancillary facilities linked to the original Newberry House and existing church. The new development will mean having a lovely comfortable home where people can live life as they choose in their own local community.
The development is costing in the region of €18.5 million and is being funded through bank loans and fundraising activities. Making the decision to move forward with the extension plans was a massive leap of faith by Nazareth House, but a leap that could not have been contemplated without the support of the local community. We are confident that when complete, the work will allow Nazareth House to continue to serve our community for generations to come.
“We are delighted by the ticket sales to date,” says Marie O’Malley, General Manager/Director of Nursing. “Not only is a night at the dogs great fun, but it’s also raising much needed funds for the redevelopment of Nazareth House. We are looking forward to welcoming all our generous supporters and those who have purchased tickets – and there’s still time to make sure you don’t miss what’s sure to be a really fun night out,” says Marie.
Tickets for the Night at the Dogs are €10 and are available from Nazareth House – contact Helen on 087 241 5896.
