k57

Charleville will be en fete next Monday afternoon for the arrival of the An Post Rás to the town, where there will be a stage stop for Ireland’s most prestigious and longest-running cycle race.

The estimated time of arrival is 3.30pm, but before arriving in Charleville the peloton will travel through Caherconlish, Patrickswell, Bruff, and Kilmallock, so there will be many vantage points to watch the international field of cyclists passing. If you miss the big stage end on Monday, you can see the peloton off on Tuesday morning at 11am, and it will proceed through Dromina, Freemount, and Newmarket on its way to Dingle, and on the following Friday the race will return to Cork as it passes through Donoughmore, Bweeng and Mallow. For a feature on the big race, see pages 11, 12 and 13.
