Remembering Seán Blake

A large ‘gathering’ attended the Meanus Community Centre recently to celebrate a memorial tribute to Seán Blake, who passed on to his eternal reward last August. Seán served Meanus as an unselfish voluntary and valuable community worker for over forty years, and was associated with most clubs and activities in the area. Seán was an excellent and popular organiser of sporting and charitable fundraising activities.

On behalf of the Meanus community and in appreciation for Seán’s outstanding contribution to local life, Pat O’Connor presented a photographic book to Seán’s son John and sister Kitty Farrell.

These photographs recall and record much of what was Seán’s life, and also those who were his friends. Then everyone present regaled each other with heartfelt wholesome and humorous anecdotes about the fine character that was Seán Blake.
