Aileen Nix is a visual artist based in Newcastle West. She graduated in June 2015 with a BA Honours Bachelor Degree in Fine Art from LSAD (Limerick School of Art and Design). She specialised in sculpture and combined media and her main interests are in found and discarded objects. Through her work Aileen extends the life of the objects and somehow invokes a range of emotions in her viewers. Aileen uses photography, installation and sound art techniques to convey her strong, artistic message. This summer her work was chosen for the RDS Students Award Exhibition and currently has a group show “Plinth” exhibition at O’Curry Street, Limerick City. Aileen has been accepted for an MA in Social Practise and The Creative Environment to commence in October.
