Primary teachers from throughout West Limerick assembled at the Devon Inn recently to honour three colleagues who have recently retired from the classroom. Ms Ann Horan, member of the Central Executive Committee of INTO and a teacher in Carrickerry NS attended the function. The three teachers have a combined total of over 100 years service in the classroom. The event was organised by Newcastle West branch of the Irish National Teachers Organisation. Also honoured on the night was Margaret Bernard, who lives in Adare and who served as Executive member from 2011 to 2015. A very pleasant night of reminiscing and laughter followed.
