SCOIL IOSAF newcastlewest – ‘Tis the season to be busy’

Again this year Scoil Iósaf was a hive of festive activity leading up to the Christmas holidays.

December started with Aoife Loughran, 4th class, winning 1st prize in the county in this year’s Credit Union art competition – congratulations and well done Aoife! Also a special thank you to the Desmond Credit Union for their contribution to our new ‘soft surface’ playground.

The Christmas festivities continued with our 2nd and 6th class pupils visiting St. Catherine’s Nursing Home where they treated the residents to a festive display of carols, songs and music.

Congratulations to the Scoil Iósaf quiz team, Ali and Con Greaney, Eimear Nash and Ailish Wrenne, who came second in this year’s Community Games county final. Well done girls!

Christmas at Scoil Iósaf would not be the same without the 2nd Class Nativity Play. Again this year it delighted the audience. Congratulations to this year’s winners of the Scoil Iósaf Green Schools Christmas Decorations Competition – and of course a highlight once again this Christmas was Santa’s visit. We are delighted to report that all the Scoil Iósaf pupils were on Santa’s ‘Good’ list! Congratulations to the winners of Santa’s raffle and the Credit Union draw for the young Sammy Stamp savers. But of course again this year we are all winners at Scoil Iósaf. Athbhliain faoi mhaise daoilbh go leir
