Anyone travelling to Cork Opera House to enjoy the musical ‘Hairspray’ will see two familiar faces among the cast, Shane O’Riordan (18) and Eimear Sheehan (16), both members of Centre Stage School, while David O’Connor is chief choreographer. Shane will follow his stint at Cork Opera House by going to study Musical Theatre in the prestigious Arts Educational College in London, while Eimear is going into 5th year in St. Mary’s Secondary School.
Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, ‘Hairspray’ follows teenager Tracy Turnbald and friends in their dream to dance. ‘Hairspray’ is a musical bursting with laughter, romance and vivacious songs, a show for all ages, and Mallow’s Shane and Eimear are doing their town proud on the big stage.
