Sherlock calls for traffic lights report to be made available

Minister of State Seán Sherlock has called again for the traffic lights at the bottom of Tuckey’s Hill to be switched off, and for the reports on sequencing to be made freely available online while a public consultation takes place. “People in Mallow are frustrated still by the traffic lights and the lack of engagement from Cork County Council,” said Minister Sherlock. “A suspension of the lights must take place and the public and businesses consulted.

“I know that taxi drivers in Mallow are unhappy at the impact the lights are having on their business. It is getting increasingly difficult to cross Mallow town in a car, which is having a particular impact on elderly people. The Council should publish whatever reports it has on sequencing of the lights and put it to public con-sultation.

“I would support a public meeting on this matter and I am happy to chair it, should one be arranged,” he said.
